Stepping back for a minute to think about his Twitter fight with President Donald Trump, Alec Baldwin informed Jimmy Fallon it’s a “surreal” experience to be grappling on social networks with the existing Commander-in-Chief. Still, he has a couple of concerns over Trump’s obvious Twitter binges.
In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin had actually called his Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live impersonation of Trump to be “agony”– generally due to the fact that there’s no end in sight to something he anticipated to just carry out a couple of times. Trump assaulted on social media by tweeting, “Alec, it was also agony for those who were forced to watch. You were terrible. Bring back Darrell Hammond, much funnier and a far greater talent!”
“The interesting thing is nobody’s actually forced to watch,” Baldwin stated on The Tonight Show “I found that out. We don’t force anyone to watch. Trump forces people to listen to him, I guess we call them government employees.”
“Does he have alerts or does he sequester himself for just a period of tweeting?” Baldwin then asked Fallon. The star envisioned Trump being in front of the TELEVISION to see Fox & Friends in the early morning with a “triple order of bacon — he likes bacon, apparently he eats a lot of bacon — and he’s got his phone and he’s watching the news in his boxers and his bathrobe.”
“Or,” he included, “does he get alerts? Is he in the middle of a session with North Korean diplomats and their talking about nuclear weapons? He’s like, ‘Hold on a moment, please. [Tweeting] Alec Baldwin, loser!’”
Baldwin most just recently appeared on SNL as Trump for Charles Barkley’s hosting stint. In an opening sketch, he stated that Wakanda, the imaginary African country from Marvel’s Black Panther, is “beating” the United States “Wakanda is laughing at us,” Baldwin stated, funneling Trump. “They’ve got flying cars, people, in Wakanda.”
“I don’t need to tell you, it gets exhausting after a while,” Baldwin informed Fallon.
As he discussed, “He pertained to me, [ SNL executive manufacturer] Lorne [Michaels], and stated do the Trump thing, and we believed we were going to do it for 3 programs in the fall. There was no chance he was going to win. And after that he won and I keep in mind depending on bed and going, ‘Oh no.'”
