All is well on the planet of Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams as we rejoin the chainsaw-wielding demon-battler in his home town at the start of Ash vs. Evil Dead season 3, which premieres tonight on STARZ.
“He’s doing infomercials, he’s taken over his dad’s hardware store, and he’s the hero of Elk Grove,” Campbell informs EW. “What could go wrong? No, it’s going to go bad real quick. Ash’s world is always going to go to s—. That’s what it’s all about. If Ash isn’t eating a s— sandwich, he starves.”
New characters this season consist of a child Ash didn’t understand existed called Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill). “It’s good for the story because the demons are like the mafia,” states Campbell. “If they can’t get to Ash, they’re going to go for the family.”

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How does Ash find he has a child?
BRUCE CAMPBELL: The lady he got pregnant tracks him down and generally punches him in the face at the grand opening of his daddy’s hardware shop. We do not take long for the wheels to come off the tracks! Arielle Carver-O’Neill is rather beautiful, and she’s from Australia, I believe from Melbourne, and she’s going to make her cash this season, that’s for sure. She gets more blood than I do!
What is up with Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) in season 3?
Pablo is connected to a brujo (sorcerer), so we’re going to grow a bit more on his capabilities to check out ancient texts and to analyze visions. He’s going to type of grow in his own right, and begin to get brujo magical capabilities himself, so he’s going to end up being extremely helpful as the season advances. Kelly is going to establish more of her own badassery. She’s going to deal a lot with Ruby this year, played by the excellent Lucy Lawless. Ruby is completely wicked this season, therefore she needed to be handled. We’re going to attempt and cover a couple of stories up this season and get a little bit more into the Joseph Campbell folklore. Ash is not simply a loser in a trailer house; his illustration remains in an ancient book. Why him? Why has he been selected?
Did you emerge physically unharmed from shooting the season?
For the a lot of part, yeah. Last season, I blew a hamstring. This year? No. It was simply basic wear and tear. I seem like I was Tom Brady making it through another season. Crap’s going to occur when you see some of these battle scenes. Primarily however, it falls on the shoulders of my exceptional stuntman, Raicho Vasilev, from Bulgaria. I’ll hear these remarkable crashes from throughout the set and I’ll go, “Raicho, how’d it go?” He’ll go, “F— this s—, boss!” And I understand he’s having fun.
Is there going to be a season 4?
We will not understand till the middle of March. We’re in the dreadful tv limbo today.
Will the Evil Dead franchise go back to the cinema anytime quickly?
We’re visiting exactly what the TELEVISION gods have in shop for us. We’re all set in either case. We can believe about another motion picture if they take us off the air. And if they do not, we can simply keep plugging away.
