What do you do after striking 541 crowning achievement, winning 3 World Series, breaking an almost 100- year-old curse, and assisting rally a whole city in the wake of catastrophe? Well, you try to find a brand-new task, naturally.
That’s the facility of David Ortiz’s brand-new Fusion series Big Papi Needs a Job “Once you’re not on the baseball schedule, you’re going to have a lot of time to do whatever you want,” he informs EW.
So now, a year after his retirement, the Boston Red Sox legend takes a swing at a range of various professions, attempting whatever from being an artist to a manicurist. “It’s crazy when you’re giving a woman a pedicure and you don’t know what you’re doing,” shares Ortiz, “and she’s looking at you like, ‘Really, this is what you’re doing?’”
Unsurprisingly, his preferred task was going “to the place where they make beer,” while the most difficult shown to be an extremely various clean-up than he’s utilized to. “I’ve got to say cleaning dogs,” he exposes. “I guess you’ve got to get familiar with the dog, otherwise you could be in trouble.”
One task he’s ruling out is his old one: Designated Hitter for the Red Sox, confessing he does not think he might still play. “I don’t think I’ve got any hits left,” he chuckles. The folks at Fusion hope in a different way.
