Destiny 2 Faction Rally WINNER: Season 2 Results for PS4, Xbox, PC to follow reset news

DESTINY 2 Faction Rally WINNER – Update 1:

Bungie has revealed the winner of Destiny 2’s faction rally event.

Players who log in and go to the game’s social hub may notice a giant flag now adorning the Tower.

New Monarchy has won the event – again.

That means you’ll be able to buy the New Monarchy weapon for a fraction of the regular price if you’ve opted for them at the start of the rally – or pay out of the ears for it if you supported Dead Orbit or Future War Cult.

You can read all about the specific details of this week’s reset in Destiny 2 here, too.

Destiny 2’s second Faction Rally event is coming to an end later today and in a couple of hours, after the game has undergone it’s weekly reset, one of the three factions will be crowned champions.

Last week players were given the choice of pledging their allegiance to one of Future War Cult, Dead Orbit or New Monarchy.

On top of the usual assortment of Faction gear, each group was also offering a special weapon as a reward to be sold during “Victory Week” to Guardians.

Depending on which group wins will determine the weapon on sale, and everyone who pledged to the winning faction will be able to purchase it for 1,000 glimmer.

But those guardians from the losing two factions can still purchase the weapon, but at an eye-watering higher price of 50,000 glimmer.

As players may have now noticed, the Faction Rallies operate differently to Destiny 1, where Factions would be active all the time.

But in Destiny 2, only certain weeks will see Faction Rallies occur – making the events more special and making the loot they offer rarer, too.

This week’s winner will be announced as soon as the Reset takes place, which is normally 5PM GMT sharp.

So far we’ve had two Faction Rally events in Destiny 2, with Dead Orbit and New Monarchy having both enjoyed a victory once before. Can Future War Cult finally win this third time around? We’ll find out later this evening.

What is also worth noting is that, although the event will end later today, the Faction Rally will technically continue for another week.

During that time, players can make the most of their tokens even though the event is over.

“Tokens can no longer be earned, but you can still redeem any that you’re still holding to receive packages.” explained Bungie previously.

“Any engrams that are waiting to be claimed from a faction vendor will be auto-decrypted and placed in your inventory at the reset.

“Make sure you turn in all of your tokens before the end of victory week.”

At the end of the Victory Week, the Faction Rally will be finished, with Iron Banner the next event on the horizon, which is coming January 30th.

It’s also worth sharing the comments Bungie made in its latest blog post.

The developer of the game stated that it knows it didn’t manage to live up to all the promises it made in its previous statement regarding Faction Rallies but was still keen to assure players that various fixes are in the works.

The developer’s statement can be read below:

There was an issue in the previous Faction Rallies where players were earning hundreds of Faction Tokens per hour without firing a single shot.

In the recent December 12 update, Faction Token rewards were added to an existing system that was locking players out from Lost Sector Rewards. We have heard player feedback that this solution was too disruptive.

We’re looking at a change that won’t make players feel forced to run to and from a single chest for hours while also not placing a hard stop on enjoying Lost Sectors. We want to ensure that every time you open a chest there is loot inside. We’ll share more details on this before the next Faction Rallies.

The other question that players immediately asked when decrypting their Faction Engrams was: “Where are the new Season 2 weapons?” It was not made clear beforehand that the new Season 2 weapons would be added throughout the events of the Season rather than all at once in the beginning.

This was on us. No excuses. You can read the full details with how the weapons will be rolled out here. We will be remedying this lapse in communication next week with details on what you should expect when the next Iron Banner rolls out in Season 2.

The rest of the post goes on to explain how Bungie plans to fix the issues going forward, specifically in relation to weapons and token acquisition.
