Malcolm X Personal Letter re: Marital Woes … Yours for $75 k
A letter Malcolm X penned to his coach and Nation of Islam leader, Elijah Muhammad— looking for marital recommendations– is up for sale with a significant cost.
Malcolm composed the letter in 1959, relying on his spiritual leader for some marital relationship therapy. In the correspondence, Malcolm information problems he and his partner, Betty Shabazz, had actually been aiming to figure out for months. He asks Elijah Muhammad to action in, stating … “I have complete faith in whatever way you wish or may chose (or may not) to take it up with her.”
We’re informed the letter was initially acquired by Elijah Muhammad’s boy, who offered it to his lawyer … who ultimately offered it to a collector approximately 20 years earlier. It’s now being offered through Moments in Time for a cool $75,000
For the record … Malcolm and Betty stayed married up until his assassination in 1965.
February 21 will mark the 53 rd anniversary of his death.
