You betta werk for that democracy eleganza, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, due to the fact that RuPaul’s Drag Race is getting more political than before.
The very first 10 minutes from Thursday’s edition of the Emmy-winning truth competitors series (above) sees the Democratic Leader of the United States House of Representatives sashay her method into the storied Werk Room, where she worries the value of American residents taking part in their federal government– which riles up a few of the All Stars 3 rivals.
“Nancy Pelosi? I’m dying! I just want to say thank you to her, I want to hug her, I want to be like, ‘Kick their ass!’” Morgan McMichaels– who went back to the competitors recently throughout the very same episode that saw fan preferred BenDeLaCreme remove herself– states of Pelosi’s look in a confessional. “[She’s] spearheading the way through!”
And, after Pelosi comes down the program’s renowned staircase together with RuPaul, it appears that the sensation of infatuation is shared.
“When I got the invitation to visit the Werk Room, I couldn’t resist,” Pelosi informs the queens soon after fulfilling them. “I’m honored to be here. You’re an inspiration, I hope you know, because you really know your power. It’s about taking pride, and that’s what you do: Take pride in yourselves and you know your power.”
She continues: “Voting is everything. People sacrifice so much in our country for people to have the right to vote. It’s a blessing. But, we have to use it. If you don’t vote, you don’t count, and you count.”
Pelosi’s existence eventually moves Trixie Mattel to tears.
“Every time you get in drag, you’re making a political statement,” Trixie states. “We live in a world where a high-power politician will walk into the Werk Room. That makes me feel hopeful.”
