Netflix’s Riverdale spinoff casts Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s greatest good friend
The Hollywood Reporter has introduced that actress Jaz Sinclair (Slender Man) will co-star reverse lead Kiernan Shipka (Feud) in Netflix‘s untitled Sabrina sequence, which has already been given a two-season, 20-episode order, with the primary 10 episodes set to be filmed from February to June and the second set from June to October. Sinclair will play sequence common Rosalind Walker, the brash, empowered and outspoken daughter of Greendale’s minister and Sabrina’s (Shipka) greatest good friend at Baxter Excessive.
The sequence is predicated on the brand new comedian e-book The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a darkish coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and, in fact, witchcraft. Tonally within the vein of Rosemary’s Child and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her twin nature — half-witch, half-mortal — whereas standing towards the evil forces that threaten her, her household and the daylight world people inhabit.
Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina character within the new sequence is described as adopted: “An empowered young woman, half-human, half-witch, Sabrina is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness, Sabrina is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness that threaten our world.”
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comedian e-book sequence options transient appearances by Archie characters like Betty and Veronica, however with the spinoff touchdown on a distinct community than Riverdale, whose house is on The CW, it stays to be seen if there will probably be any formal affiliation between the 2 sequence.
