Shia LaBeouf understands he screwed up.
The star actually attempted himself in a regretful interview for the April concern of Esquire— the very first sit-down chat considering that his “mortifying” 2017 arrest where he tossed racist curs at policeman.

Looking back on the awkward debate, which the 31- year-old called a mixed drink of “white privilege and desperation and disaster,” LaBeouf confessed:
“What went on in Georgia was mortifying. White privilege and desperation and disaster… It came from a place of self-centered delusion… It was me trying to absolve myself of guilt for getting arrested. I fucked up.”
That he did!
For those who forgot, LaBeouf was accuseded of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct after going on a profanity-laced tirade while withstanding arrest. The Transformers star then excused his habits after video footage of the careless event was launched online, exposing the complete scope of his racially-charged douchebaggery.

To his credit, LaBeouf pulled no punches on himself in his Esquire interview, admitting his intoxicated outbursts were absolutely nothing to be pleased with. Comparing himself to combative tennis legend John McEnroe, who he plays in the movie Borg vs. McEnroe, he stated:
“McEnroe was a master at his rage. I’m a buffoon. My public outbursts are failures. They’re not strategic. They’re a struggling motherfucker showing his ass in front of the world.”
It’s an ass we’ve seen several times in current years– however moving forward, the star is actually aiming to tidy up his act:
“I’ve got to look at my failures in the face for a while. I need to take ownership of my shit and clean up my side of the street a bit before I can go out there and work again, so I’m trying to stay creative and learn from my mistakes… The truth is, in my desperation, I lost the plot.”
Sounds like he’s still recuperating from those plotless Michael Bay movies. We want him the very best!
