Foy got a reported $40,000 per episode for her award winning representation of the royal, while Smith’s wage for playing her partner is unreported.
Producers associated Smith’s greater wage to his popularity as the title character of Doctor Who, however assured the audience that her majesty gets a rightful income in the future. Officer Suzanne Mackie quipped:
“Going forward, no one gets paid more than the Queen.”
Good! Not the finest timing for Foy– as The Crown is modifying practically its whole lineup of stars for seasons 3 and 4, which take location in a later years.
But it readies news for Olivia Colman, who will action in as the (properly paid) Queen. Smith’s replacement has yet to be called.
